**POSITION**:Pastry Production Associate

**LOCATION**:de la terre bakery; 55 Geneva St. St. Catharines, ON

**HOURS**:full**-**time hours: 30 - 40hours/week

**SHIFT TYPE: **:Mornings/days; scheduled shift times range between the hours of 5:00am - 5:00pm. Applicants must be available on weekends.

**EXPECTED START DATE**: ASAP

**JOB SUMMARY**:
de le terre bakery is located just outside of downtown St. Catharines, Ontario and is seeking a full time Pastry Production Associate for our Pastry department. The Pastry Production Associate position is a permanent, full

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Accurately scaling, mixing, and assembling various pastries including but not limited to croissants, scones, biscuits, and cookies.
- Skillfully laminating croissant dough and puff pastry to produce the best product possible in accordance with de la terre recipes and procedures.
- Completing all daily prep work to ensure the pastry department is set up for success for the next day.
- Assisting other Pastry and Bread department team members throughout the day as needed.
- Occasionally baking and packing fresh baked product for various wholesale accounts and farmers markets.
- Working both independently and in a team environment. Applicants must be comfortable working in a fast-paced and time sensitive environment.
- Maintaining a clean and safe working environment at all times. Applicants must be knowledgeable in proper food handling, storage, and labeling. Daily cleaning is required.

**SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Experience working in a bakery, restaurant, or other food service setting is required. Minimum 1 year.
- Experience laminating and or working with laminated doughs is an asset.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills are necessary to be successful.
- Must have high standards regarding quality and attention to detail.
- Must be able to follow written instructions, including recipes.
- Knowledge and experience working with sourdough, sponge and other preferments is an asset.

**Salary**: $16.50-$17.50 per hour
