Calgary, Canada Glengarry Farm Finance Full time

**Funding Officer — Servicing & Operations**

**Location**: Downtown Calgary
**Reports to**: Manager, Servicing & Operations (Calgary)
**Works closely with**: Treasury (Toronto)

**Join the growing team at Glengarry Farm Finance**

Glengarry Farm Finance Corporation is Canada’s first alternative agricultural mortgage lender, created to support Canadian farms through complex transitions and time-sensitive financing needs. Our business focuses on farming operations in Ontario and Western Canada.

We are recruiting a **Funding Officer** to join our **Servicing & Operations** team in Calgary. This role works at the centre of loan execution — coordinating legal, treasury, credit, and investor requirements to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant funding of complex agricultural loans.

This is a hands-on execution role for someone who thrives in fast-moving transactions and can keep files advancing even when inputs are incomplete, evolving, or time-sensitive. It is not a back-office processing role. Success in this position depends on strong judgment, exceptional organization, and the ability to operate effectively within a dynamic decision-making environment.

**What You’ll Do**

**Loan Setup & Documentation**
- Review and input loan details, legal descriptions, insurance, and registration information into internal systems (Mortgage Automator).
- Generate, circulate, and manage loan documentation including commitment letters, onboarding letters, IC credit memos, and renewal letters.
- Maintain accurate and complete loan records throughout the loan lifecycle.

**Due Diligence & Compliance**
- Coordinate and conduct conflict of interest (COI) and anti-money laundering (AML) searches with lawyers and third-party providers.
- Review borrower and solicitor documentation for regulatory and internal compliance.
- Ensure security documentation meets investor and internal standards.

**Solicitor Instruction & Coordination**
- Prepare and issue solicitor instructions through secure platforms.
- Set up borrower counsel in systems and manage document flow.
- Review solicitor reporting (initial, interim, final) and ensure conditions are satisfied before funding or discharge.
- Obtain and coordinate execution of discharge documentation for timely land registration.

**Deposit & Disbursement Management**
- Coordinate receipt and return of deposit funds.
- Process loan advances, generate funding statements, submit funding requests, and update systems.
- Diarize key reporting dates, solicitor requirements, and interest adjustments.

**Renewals & Discharges**
- Prepare and manage loan renewals, including tracking conditions and processing updates in Mortgage Automator.
- Collect renewal fees and ensure system accuracy.
- Oversee full discharge process from legal review through file closure.

**Investor & Treasury Collaboration**
- Arrange loan security and documentation in accordance with investor requirements.
- Communicate funding requests and capital calls to treasury and investor partners in a timely and accurate manner.

**Audit, Reporting & Administration**
- Compile and upload audit documentation to secure portals (e.g., MNP).
- Maintain clean, auditable documentation trails.
- Act as the primary coordination point for internal teams, solicitors, brokers, and borrowers.
- Take detailed notes during Investment Committee meetings and support follow-up actions.
- Organize and archive documentation across all systems.

**What We’re Looking For**

**Required**
- Post-secondary education (legal background preferred).
- Minimum 3 years of commercial loan funding experience with exposure to agricultural lending.
- Exceptional organization, attention to detail, and file ownership.
- Strong communication and coordination skills across multiple stakeholders.

**Nice to Have**
- Financial data analysis experience.
- Experience with Mortgage Automator, Filogix, or similar lending systems.
- Exposure to loan servicing functions for cross-disciplinary support.
- Family farm background (applicants without ag-lending experience but with strong commercial funding experience are welcome).

**Why This Role Matters**

This is a critical operational role in a growing organization. You will directly impact the speed, accuracy, and reliability of Glengarry’s funding operations and will help shape how complex agricultural transactions are executed across the business.

**Applicants should include details of any agricultural finance experience in their cover letter.**

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $65,000.00-$80,000.00 per year

Work Location: In person
