**Job Overview**:
As a Data Product Manager, you manage the full lifecycle of data products—from inception and strategy through development, launch, adoption, and iteration. Your role transforms data into high-value, consumable data products that support business objectives and operations, enables data-driven decision-making, drives data innovation and adoption, and generates measurable value. This position requires strong product thinking, technical fluency in data engineering, and a product-customer-value mindset.
**Key Responsibilities**:
**Product Strategy & Lifecycle Management**:
- Manage the vision, strategy, and value proposition for data products aligned with business strategies, goals and operations.
- Own the product lifecycle: ideation, prioritization, MVP definition, roadmap planning, development, go-to-market, and product iteration.
- Establish product-market fit by identifying data product use cases with measurable value and clear customer demand. Engaging our data consumers is a key responsibility.
- Create and maintain data product portfolios with associated KPIs and value tracking models.
- Continually engage with stakeholders to understand data demands and business objectives that drive the data product roadmap and its priorities.
**Data Product Development & Engineering Partnership**:
- Collaborate closely with data engineers and architects to design scalable, secure, and reusable data products (e.g., APIs, curated datasets, analytics models).
- Define and oversee SLAs, data contracts, lineage, documentation, and testing strategies.
- Be a data product development leader including story refinement, sprint planning, and release cycles in partnership with business stakeholders and data engineering.
**Go-to-Market, Adoption, and Enablement**:
- Drive product launch plans, adoption strategies, enablement content, and internal marketing. This role drives data and analytics adoption and culture.
- Serve as the product evangelist, working cross-functionally with SNDL’s business units and stakeholders to create innovative and valued data products
**Metrics, Governance, and Value Realization**:
- Define and monitor product success metrics: adoption, satisfaction, time-to-insight, revenue, cost savings, etc.
- Ensure compliance with data governance, privacy, and regulatory frameworks.
- Continuously improve products based on performance insights, customer feedback, and evolving needs.
**Required Qualifications**:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering or a related technical field
- 5+ years of experience in data product management, digital product management, or senior-level data engineering roles.
- Strong knowledge of data pipelines, cloud data platforms, data modeling, and modern analytics tooling (e.g., Microsoft Fabric, Power BI).
- Experience working with stakeholders to shape and prioritize product features and roadmaps.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex products with multiple stakeholders and dependencies.
- Familiarity with data mesh principles and domain-oriented ownership models.
**As a valued member of the SNDL team, you will enjoy**:
- Competitive total compensation and incentives.
- An extended benefits package including medical, health spending account and dental.
- An entrepreneurial and innovative environment that fosters growth and continuous learning.
**Our Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion**:
