We are seeking a Employee Health, Safety and Wellness Specialist to join our team in Toronto or Winnipeg. The **Employee Health, Safety and Wellness Specialist** will be responsible for providing administrative support for training, compliance, and HR initiatives across all People Corporation divisions.

Reporting to HR Compliance Manager, the **Employee Health, Safety and Wellness Specialist** will be the champion of best practices in occupational health, safety, and wellness for all People Corporation employees coast-to-coast. The Employee Health, Safety and Wellness Specialist will promote the health and wellness of all People Corporation employees by providing expertise, developing and administering programs, and implementing initiatives enterprise-wide that meet the highest legislative and industry standards.

**The **Employee Health, Safety and Wellness Specialist** will**:

- Support practices across Canada in ensuring that joint health and safety committees (JHSC) or health and safety representatives are in place in each workplace location.
- Ensure that all Health and Safety training requirements for JHSC and employees are met, and that compliance records are kept per legislation.
- In partnership with the HR Compliance Manager;
- Standardize, develop and/or update People Corporation occupational health and safety policies and procedures;
- Standardize health and safety training curriculum and;
- Standardize and update People Corporation Health & Safety programs to reflect our workplace environment and the highest Canadian legislative standards.
- Leads the development of an ongoing Infection Prevention and Virus Control Program.
- Provides sound guidance, leadership and communication during incidents related to employee health and safety (including COVID-19 response).
- In partnership with other members of the HR and team, standardize People Corporation’s approach to workplace accommodations, return-to-work programs, and short-term and long-term disability management.
- Provides guidance and support for ergonomic assessment requests.
- Delivers training for committees, process, and reporting related to Employee Health, Safety and Wellness.

**T**o be successful **as a **Employee Health, Safety and Wellness Specialist** **with People Corporation, you will need**:

- Sound knowledge of all applicable legislation (Occupational Health and Safety Acts, AODA and other Accessibility legislation) and HR policies and practices.
- Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to prepare written reports, work plans and presentations.
- Excellent facilitation skills and the ability to lead committees and collaborate with teams across departments.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
- Proficient in Office 365 tools (Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint etc.)
**- A degree, diploma, or certificate (i.e., ‘Canadian Registered Safety Professional’) from an accredited post-secondary institution OR an equivalent combination of education and considerable professional experience.
- Experienced in the development and delivery of health and safety programs and training, including conducting needs and risk assessments.
- In-depth knowledge of ergonomics
- Experience working in a pan-Canadian or multi-jurisdictional organization would be an advantage.
