**Job Title**:Facility Operations Technician

**Dept**:Arena

**Reports Directly To**: Arena Facility Operations Manager

**Job Summary / Purpose**:Under the direction of the Arena manager, ensure that floods are done on time with safety being a prime concern. Primary duties include ice resurfacing, compressor log readings, janitorial work & some HVAC troubleshooting.

**Job Duties & Responsibilities**:
Flood and maintain meticulous ice as scheduled.

Participate in keeping all areas of the facility neat and tidy as well as safe at all times.

Ensure all entrances are kept clear and safe of all debris and snow.

Monitor the ice arena regularly.

Complete all log reports as required.

Do minor maintenance on facility and ice maintenance equipment.

Follow safety programs associated with the operation of ice making and ice maintenance equipment

Perform daily maintenance of ice making equipment

Maintenance of hockey dashers, goals, and scoreboards

Event takedown and set up

Respond to guest’s needs in a friendly and courteous manner.

Other duties as required.

**Requirements/Specialized Skills**

2 years minimum previous training and operation of ice resurfacing equipment a must.

Working knowledge of ice making and ice maintenance

Established attention to detail

Willingness to learn and teach new skills

Ability to accept and evaluate criticism on ice conditions

Demonstrated ability to be a team player

Ability to lift heavy objects of over 50 pounds

Good communication skills.

Basic Computer knowledge an asset.

Mechanical aptitude an asset.

**Education & Certification**

Certified Ice Technician

Must have a valid class “G” license

Grade 12 High school or equivalent

Current CPR/First Aid preferred.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
