Support Worker/ Care Aid Awake Overnight

**The Burnaby Association for Community Inclusion **provides a range of supports and services to people with developmental disabilities. Our Home and Community services is looking for a Residential Worker Overnight.
- This is a regular Part-Time position of 30 hours per week. The s chedule is Thursday Friday Saturday 11pm-9am working awake overnights.**Perks**:

**Responsibilities**:

- Overnight support to people in a shared-living home
- Follow support plan in interactions with people living in the home
- Updating support plans and providing some data entry
- Cooking and cleaning to ensure a healthy environment
- Providing individuals with the opportunity to make meaningful choices
- Encouraging and recognizing individuals' contributions
- Ensuring that individuals are safe and to promote their health and well-being
- assist individuals to gain knowledge and experiences to enhance their independence and/or ability to participate in their community.

**Qualifications**:

- The ability to work effectively both as a team member and independently is essential
- Belief in the values of inclusion and person centred practise
- Experience and specialized training related to autism and/or challenging behaviours is an asset
- Knowledge and ability to use alternative communication systems would be an asset
- Knowledge of principles of Person Centered Thinking and Planning preferred
- Working knowledge of computers is necessary
- Diploma or degree in Social

This position requires union membership and completion of Criminal Record Search as per the Criminal Record Review Act and up-to-date COVID-19 Vaccination.
