**Health Care Aide - Burnaby**

As a Health Care Aide, you will call upon your nurturing and assisting skills to provide overall care to clients. In this position you will assist clients with personal care, lifts and transfers, toileting, bathing, and feeding. You will also provide light housekeeping support, prepare meals, and be a companion.

***This position is overnight from 2300 - 0700**

**Your role with clients**

As a caring, responsible health care team member, you will provide quality, patient-centred care to our clients in our Transitional Home, helping them to live their best lives. You will provide:

- personal care proactively and with compassion
- assist with daily living activities, such as grooming, dressing and bathing.
- Plan and prepare meals
- Help with patient mobility and transfers
- Perform light household duties, such as cleaning, laundry and washing dishes

**What you will need to be successful**
- Your Personal Support Worker (or HCA) Certificate or Equivalent
- Care Aide and Community Health Worker Registry Number
- Current CPR and First Aid Certification
- A clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening within the last 12 months
- Proof of a negative TB test within the last 12 months and an up-to-date immunization record
- Ability to work overnight shifts and have weekend availability
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills, with ability to communicate in other languages an asset
- Reliability and strong organization skills
- Ability to safely lift up to 35 lbs. (16 kg)
