**What you will do**
The Manager, Sunday Service provides operational leadership to ensure the effective delivery of all public-facing services - including membership, reference, readers’ advisory and technology services - at the Central Library during Sunday service hours. The position holder supervises all staff on duty, is responsible for overseeing building operations including opening and closing the library and addressing operational and maintenance issues.

In this role, you will:

- Administer and participate in the development, implementation, and monitoring of safe work practices and procedures in support of Kitchener Public Library's Health and Safety Policy
- Respond to general maintenance issues and address any health or safety concerns
- Provide supervision, training, development, coaching, and scheduling staff under the general direction of Area Manager, Central and Membership Services
- Respond to escalated customer behaviour or medical emergencies, and use judgement and training to determine if and when to call emergency services
- Ensure proper staffing levels to support effective operations
- Promote a positive, inclusive and engaged team culture aligning with library values
- Deliver advanced reference and reader advisory services and technology support to customers

**What you bring**
- Post-secondary degree or certifications in MLS, MIS, or MLIS
- 12+ months of library or customer service experience
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent public service skills to interact positively and build relationships with customers in a way that meets their unique needs
- Ability to be flexible, adaptable, take initiative, and provide constructive support in responding to changing needs and priorities
