The HR Generalist leads the daily functions of the Human Resources department within Chrysalis. These responsibilities include recruitment and onboarding, terminations, policy implementation/ monitoring, employee relations, training and development, and overall employee records maintenance. The Human Resources Generalist assists the Human Resources Manager with the implementation of changes serving the strategic goals of Chrysalis as well as ensuring all regulatory and compliance requirements are met as they pertain to applicable privacy and employment legislation. This position is required to work with all departments.

**Responsibilities**:

- Promote and maintain an overall positive environment for all employees
- Implement, revise and oversee existing and new employment policies and procedures
- Perform recruiting efforts including posting jobs, screenings, interviews, pre-employment checks, and reference checks.
- Facilitate onboarding and offboarding of employees
- Provide training support to Chrysalis employees
- Support with benefits administration
- Manage and monitor performance-related issues and implement changes that could increase efficiency
- Carry out termination-related tasks and prepare termination and severance letters
- Respond to employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff
- Maintain current knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in talent management, recruitment, terminations, and overall Human Resources operations
- Work with the Human Resources Manager to identify gaps and areas for improvement in day-to-day operations
- Perform other duties as assigned

Compliance:

- Review, verify and file compliance documents as they relate to mandatory and non-mandatory training, and work assessments.
- Be well-versed in employment legislation and regulatory practices as it pertains to daily transactions.
- Assist with the protection of personal information in accordance with PPI legislation and report any breaches.
- Working with managers to maximize and develop staff as well as identifying staffing needs to assist with gaps.

**Qualifications**:
**Education**:

- Diploma or Degree in Human Resources. A Certificate in Human Resources with a minimum of 5 years HR experience would be considered.
- CHRP designation or actively working towards the designation is an asset

**Experience**:

- Minimum 2 years of HR experience as an HR Generalist.
- Experience working within an organization with multiple locations and diverse employees is an asset.
- Experience working for a non-profit organization would be an asset

Skills and Knowledge:

- Strong knowledge of performance evaluations, conflict resolution, negotiation skills, employee motivation, Human Resources policies, best practices, and other related skills
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills working with diverse employees
- Strong communication skills, including writing, listening, and speaking to communicate with employees at all levels within the organization
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
- Significant understanding of the hiring and onboarding process
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to manage multiple priorities
- Strong problem solving and judgment skills
- Takes initiative and suggests improvements in processes
- Very strong attention to detail
- Accepts, manages, and leads change effectively
- Supports teamwork and is a role model to contribute to a positive team spirit
- Dependable and reliable with the flexibility to work varied hours, when required
- Computer proficiency with Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive, and Gmail) and HR Downloads
- Foundational knowledge of HR policies and practices, compliance requirements, and risk implications of HR functions in employee relations, collective bargaining agreements, performance management, discrimination, and harassment, recruiting and hiring, compensation and benefits, leaves and disability management, payroll and timekeeping, records management, HCM, and related system.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $50,258.67-$81,364.01 per year
