Key Responsibilities

- Create, review and update client policies, handbooks, and other documents to ensure they are compliant with the relevant legislation as well as best practice.

- Investigate and resolve employee relations issues.

- Provide advice on performance and disciplinary issues.

- Mentor internal HR Coordinators.

- Assist with the administration and facilitation of terminations and suspensions per client needs.

- Coordinate employee and/or disability leaves.

- Administer training sessions and/or seminars.

- Keep current with existing and proposed laws and regulations affecting HR practices.

- Assist with specialized projects such as job descriptions, compensation reviews, HR audits, and HRIS implementations.

- Provide recruitment support.

- Initiate strategic planning, reinforce processes, and ensure compliance.

- Other HR & Administrative tasks, as required.

Payroll Functions

- Perform full-cycle payroll processing for multiple clients, ensuring compliance with federal and provincial regulations, including Alberta’s payroll standards.

- Maintain payroll records, including employee data, tax information, and deductions.

- Respond to payroll-related inquiries from clients and employees in a timely manner.

- Assist with year-end payroll tasks, including preparing T4s and other government filings.

- Ensure accurate remittances to the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) and other government bodies.

The Minimum Qualifications

- Post‑secondary education in Human Resources.

- 3+ years of HR generalist experience.

- Full cycle payroll experience.

- CPHR designation, or interest in pursuing the designation, is considered an asset.

- PCP or CPM designation would be considered an asset.

- Experience with Microsoft Office 365 is considered an asset.

Work Hours

This is a part‑time position with anticipated fluctuating work hours ranging from 25 to 30 hours per week, with the possibility of providing an option to convert to full‑time in the future.
