Toronto, Canada Cool Beer Brewery Full time

**Cool Beer Brewing Co**., an award winning production brewery located in Toronto has an immediate opening. We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual with a passion for producing exceptional craft beer.

Duties are variable as are hours.

The main focus of this role would be to ensure that we maintain high standards of quality and consistency not only of our house brands but also those of our co-packers.

You will be in a hands-on position looking after all aspects of our manufacturing operations including brewing, cleaning, production scheduling, inventory management, equipment repairs/maintenance, packaging, quality control and safety monitoring.

**Duties and responsibilities**:
The list is by no means definitive but includes:

- Manage a team of experts in brewing, cellaring and packaging and carry out all manufacturing and other operations at the brewery
- Oversee and align brewing and packaging schedules to meet targets
- Operating brewing equipment and related control systems
- Ensure safety and quality standards are maintained as well as inventory management
- Cost control through minimizing waste and proactive management
- Employ proper operating, cleaning, and preventative maintenance procedures as well as ensuring standard operating procedures are met
- Maintain a flexible schedule
- Assist in training and support of all brewery staff & brewery staff scheduling
- Communicate with/help attract potential contract brewers
- Prepare production, monthly inventory and quality assurance reports
- Ensure brewery is compliant with all Ontario Safe Labour practices and other legal requirements and is up-to-date with all production reportings and filings
- Be committed to the Cool Beer Brewing brand and continuously work to improve our beer quality and operational efficiency
- Create a productive team environment with all staff members
- Other duties as required

**Job Requirements**

Education & Skills
- Completion of post-secondary schooling in a brewing-related field
- Previous experience as a Packaging Operator or in a similar role is preferred
- Trained and experienced in recipe formulation and refinement as well as packaging, canning, and bottling line knowledge
- Strong mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting skills, ability to fabricate and repair packaging equipment as needed
- A thorough understanding of effective quality management systems, experience in all aspects of sensory analysis and product perception
- Experience in developing and scaling beer recipes and basic laboratory skills including a good understanding of chemistry, biology and yeast metabolism, and bacterial fermentation
- Proficiency in operating forklifts and other material handling equipment
- Ability to follow operating procedures while carefully documenting and maintaining records
- Familiar with OH&S Act and Regulations
- Ability to multitask and flexible with work schedule
- Hands-on mentality, a willingness to teach and good customer service skills

**Salary**: $41,160.74-$67,845.78 per year
