Asphalt Plant Grounds Person

**Responsibilities**:
- Assist co-workers with operating equipment as well as some plant work
- Operating equipment in a safe manner following transportation driving laws
- Cleaning of all scales, garbage, housekeeping around fuel tanks (willing to use a shovel)
- Ensuring all signage is intact around the plant/yard
- When required, assist with directing traffic, greasing and washing of equipment & trucks and maintenance on various plants in yard i.e., KMA, asphalt and cement
**Qualifications**:
- Some experience working in a construction company as a labourer will be an asset
- Some experience with small construction equipment such as bobcats, skid steers, loaders will be required
- Must possess a valid class 5 driver’s license
- Minimum High School education or equivalent
- Ability to work continuously for prolonged periods of time under pressure
- High attention to detail, strong communication skills and ability to follow directions
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions
- Ability to use smart phones and testing features
- Ability to work independently with little supervision
- Willingness and ability to work extended hours and weekends
**Additional Information**:
- This is a seasonal position and is eligible for over-time
- Opportunity for local employment within Edmonton
- Training will be provided for various activities
- We offer excellent wages and a health and benefits plan with the eligibility to participate after 3 months. There is also the possibly of continuing during the winter months upon meeting the necessary requirements.
- Potential on-call work during the winter months during snow removal and early spring sweeping season
