**The Position of Red Seal Chef**:

- The Chef will be responsible for accurately following the recipes during the preparation, delivery, and presentation of meals.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:
As the Red Seal Cook you will pride yourself on your professionalism and:

- You pride yourself on being professional and take the steps to maintain a clean kitchen
- You have the ability to create menus, follow recipes and pay close attention to presentation
- You ensure that the production of meals is completed in a timely manner
- You care and the quality of the meal and the entire dining experience is important to you.
- You understand that many residents have specialized diets and will review any dietary restrictions that residents may have that are listed in the plan of care to ensure that the preparation and delivery of meals to those residents follow those instructions.
- You follow the proper food handling procedures and ensure that the other staff do the same, including checking that the daily temperature audits are followed

**Requirements**:

- Inter-Provincial Cook's Red Seal Certification - Mandatory.
- Must have a Food Handler’s Certificate.
- Must have experience with special and therapeutic diets.
- Must be physically able to lift and transfer heavy and hot items safely.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
- Must use Personal Protective Equipment such as gloves and non-slip foot ware and other items as required.
- Must have a current Vulnerable Position / Sector Screening (VPS).
- Immunization record - Tuberculosis Test Scarborough.
