Production Support Specialist

**General Scope of Responsibilities**:
**Primary**:
a. Responsible for manufacturing data entry of Dryer orders into the JD Edwards system and support of manufacturing management
b. Support the Scheduling and Manufacturing teams

**Secondary**:
a. Responsible for maintaining production plans
b. Monitors production plan to optimize production flow

**Specific Responsibilities**:
**Product Support Specialist**:
Primary Function
- Order Data Management

a. Coordinate entry of dryer fabric orders and order changes including appropriate computer entries addressing customer specifications, fabric templates, and special instructions or changes
b. Coordinate with Product Managers and Inside Sales Team to ensure the accuracy of Sales or Customer-requested information or specs
c. Responsible for processing of returns as directed by the Dryer Supply Chain Manager or Site Scheduler
d. Performs technical review of repeat orders
e. Issue fabric order requests for inter-company orders sourced from Sitos, Eupen and Suzhou. Communicate status as needed with Scheduling
- ERP Support

a. JD Edwards Dryer item spec. maintenance support

**Secondary Function**:

- Maintaining raw material inventory levels in a cost effective manner. This is accomplished by inventory analyses, cycle counting, yarn usage analysis, and system updates (ie: remove from inventory)
- Perform inventory audits with the expectation of an annual year end physical inventory audit
- Coordinate raw material orders with suppliers and processes appropriate documentation
- Create and maintain work order documentation for Can Winding
- Assemble work orders for manufacturing
- Close out base work orders; includes calculation and analyses
- Maintain and optimize production plan for Can Winding department
- Monitor stock fabric inventory levels
- Participate in or manage Manufacturing or Production Support projects/initiatives as they arise
- Departmental administrative duties
- Back-up to the Site Scheduler

**Other Functions**:

- General administrative duties necessary to support the functions of CIT, Scheduling and Manufacturing
- Maintain safe work standards and practices
- Work with and support other team initiatives

**Supervision Received**: Assignments are received with instructions as to the overall requirements of the position; work is usually checked on completion of the assignment. Routine work is normally done without technical advice; however, such advice is usually available. Guidance and supervision is received for matters outside of routine work.

**Preferable Position Requirements**:

- College degree/diploma. Education or training in a materials discipline or equivalent experience in inventory control preferred.
- Strong computer skills: Proficiency with Impromptu, MS Office software and high level of JDE system knowledge
- Highly proficient data entry skills with a very high degree of accuracy and detail oriented
- Knowledge and understanding of manufacturing operations
- LEAN manufacturing experience
- Ability to handle large amounts of data effectively and accurately
- Ability to handle an environment where change is constant
- Ability to prioritize effectively and work on multiple tasks simultaneously; able to handle constant interruptions
- Strong communication/listening skills, interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and planning abilities; analytical and detail oriented
- Good problem-solving skills with an ability to make sound decisions based on manufacturing requirements
- Able to work effectively as a team player and independently
- Dependable and adaptable

**Effort & Working Conditions**:

- Work environment allows the associate to sit comfortably and move about freely, not confined to an office

Daily exposure to the manufacturing environment. There may be some need to lift light articles. Safety protocols are to be followed at all times. Occasionally require to travel to our manufacturing facilities and to the customer’s manufacturing facilities, the latter of which involves exposur
