Reporting to the Administrator, the Quality Manager position is a critical role that works in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team to advocate and provide support and services to residents and family members.

**As part of our team, your role as a Quality Manager contributes to our resident experiences in the following ways**:

- Plans, coordinates, directs and monitors the effectiveness of all operational and quality improvement activities of the long-term care home, ensures those activities are aligned to the home’s strategic plan and improves quality of care and services.
- Ensures that all employees contribute to a positive work culture and work in accordance with our organization's key behaviours, pillars of success, and vision, mission and values.
- Provides a resident-centered care approach that engages residents, family members and employees to provide care that meets the individual needs of each resident.
- Monitors occupancy on a regular basis and takes action in order to facilitate a minimum of 97% occupancy.
- Ensures quality risk management activities are developed, implemented and maintained in order to reduce and control potential or actual risks to the safety, security and health of all individuals and to the safety and security of the long-term care home.
- Conducts quarterly audits to ensure quality risk management activities are appropriately implemented. Analyzes the data and creates action plans for address identified areas of improvement.
- Reports quality metrics and analyzes the data for trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Provides education and training with respect to quality risk management, chairs the Quality Council meeting on a quarterly basis.
- Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team with respect to quality risk management.
- Leads and supports initiatives to continuously improve resident and employee satisfaction.
- Ensures effective and efficient procurement and supply control procedures are implemented within the long-term care home.
- Ensures quality risk management activities are implemented and maintained to reduce and control potential or actual risks to the safety, security and health of all individuals, and to the safety and security of the long-term care home.
- Ensures critical incidents are investigated, reported and appropriate follow-up is taken to resolve any identified concerns.
- Ensures compliance with organizational standards, the collective agreement, as applicable and all relevant regulations, and/or legislative requirements and strategic initiatives.
- Responds promptly to address concerns of residents and family members, mediates appropriate responses to those concerns and implements action plans.
- Communicates with related Long-term care Health Agencies to promote coordination and/or planning long-term care services.
- Builds positive relationships and liaisons with residents, family members, employees, Government representatives, Physicians, Unions, community agencies and other internal and external stakeholders as appropriate.
- Maintains an organized system of records management, which includes collection, access, storage, retention and destruction of records, financial, and trust accounts.
- In the absence of the Administrator, assumes the duties of the Administrator.

**Qualifications**:

- A post-secondary degree, from a program that is a minimum of three years in duration or a post-secondary diploma in health or social services from a program that is a minimum of two years in length.
- Must have three years working experience in a managerial or supervisory capacity in the health or social services sector, preferably in a long-term care setting.
- Must have successfully completed a program in long-term care home administration or management that is a minimum of one-hundred hours in duration of instruction time.
- Sound knowledge of the Fixing Long-Term Care Homes Act 2021, Ontario Regulations 246/22.
- Excellent leadership, oral and written communication skills and strong relationship building abilities are required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Point Click Care and other computerized documentation systems.
- Satisfactory vulnerable sector check and TB test.
- Has a passion to promote person-centered care and work with the senior population.
