Accounting Manager

The Accounting Manager is responsible to manage the Finance staff who are responsible for financial reporting, billing, collections and payroll. The position will provide the applicant an opportunity to learn all accounting aspects and be well versed in all finance positions.
**Responsibilities and Technical Skills**:
- Reconcile and balance all credit cards
- Maintain property tax spreadsheet
- Assist the Assistant Director of Finance with complex financial reports, worksheets such as balance sheets, profit and loss statements, operating reports
- Reconcile Good and Service and Provincial sales tax
- Review all payroll benefits every pay period
- Ensure that Accounts Payable, Accounts Payable and Guest ledger and City ledger balances with the trial balance
- Prepare all individual owners’ statements on a monthly basis
- Prepare and process owners’ distribution
- Prepare statements of sale to assist lawyers with unit’s sale
- Perform the responsibilities of each position based on need (i.e. vacation, vacancies)
**Management Skills**:
- Demonstrate self-confidence, energy and enthusiasm.
- Demonstrate leadership by example and develop new leaders. This will be measured by the success in accounts receivable, accounts payable, day audit and general cashier.
- Actively solicits area of concerns and recommendations for improvement in the areas of responsibility.
- Manage group and interpersonal conflict situations effectively. This will be measured by the feedback from department heads and associates.
- Impose realistic deadlines for self and ensure that deadlines are met. This will be measured by the achievement of the stated deadlines.
- Handle stress effectively. This will be measured by the feedback from department heads and associates.
**General Requirements**:
- Previous experience with Accounts Payable/Receivable, Payroll, GST/PST reconciliation and Balance Sheet reconciliation
- Must be able to sit at a desk for up to 8 hours per day
- Ability to focus and maintain attention to performance of tasks and to work and complete assignment on time despite unusual interruptions
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
