**How will you contribute?**
As the Director of Parliamentary Affairs for Senator Rosemary Moodie, you will play a central role in advancing her commitment to social justice, public health, youth empowerment, and equitable policymaking that reflects Canada’s diversity.
To be successful in this role, you will leverage your well-established stakeholder network to help shape and implement the Senator’s priorities related to health equity, child and youth well-being, anti-racism, and inclusive community development. Your ability to be self-motivated and lead colleagues will make you instrumental in conducting in-depth policy research, drafting high-quality communications, managing stakeholder relationships, and providing strategic guidance to ensure that the Senator’s voice remains informed, effective, and impactful—both in the Senate and in the broader national conversation.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies to advance the Senator’s legislative and advocacy goals, with a focus on evidence-based decision-making and equitable community outcomes;
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across sectors, including parliamentary partners, public health leaders, youth organizations, academic institutions, racialized and Indigenous communities, and advocacy groups;
- Draft high-quality speeches, briefing notes, reports, and communications materials that clearly reflect the Senator’s vision, priorities, and commitments;
- Monitor Senate proceedings, committee work, and national policy developments to provide timely insights and identify opportunities for engagement;
- Represent the Senator at meetings, roundtables, and community events, and act as a liaison to ensure diverse voices are reflected in policy discussions;
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive office environment by mentoring interns and junior staff, supporting professional development, and modelling a commitment to equity and public service;
- Manage complex projects and competing priorities with strong organizational skills, initiative, and attention to detail.

**Prerequisites**
- University degree from a recognized institution in public health, social sciences, public policy, health administration, political science, or a related field with relevance to health equity, social justice, or child and youth development; or an acceptable combination of education, training, and experience related to the duties of the position;
- Extensive experience building and maintaining relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including community-based organizations, healthcare professionals, youth-serving agencies, equity-deserving groups, and government officials;
- Demonstrated experience working with or advising senior officials, parliamentarians, or advocacy groups, particularly in areas related to child welfare, healthcare systems, equity policy, or anti-racism initiatives;
- Exceptional writing, research, analytical, and communication skills, with a strong record of producing high-quality policy briefs, speeches, and strategic communications focused on equity, inclusion, and public health;
