**How will you contribute?**
As the Director of Parliamentary Affairs for Senator Duncan Wilson, you will support the Senator in leveraging his extensive experience and leadership to drive Canada’s economic growth on the global stage. With over three decades of expertise in strategy development, advancing complex initiatives, and fostering collaboration across diverse interests, Senator Wilson has consistently delivered innovative solutions that balance economic growth with environmental protection and social responsibility. In this role, you will help ensure that the Senator’s priorities in international trade, foreign affairs, transport, and regulatory reform are advanced in a manner that upholds human rights, promotes Indigenous reconciliation, and ensures environmental sustainability.
Your contributions will be crucial in conducting research, providing strategic advice, managing communications, and building relationships with key stakeholders to ensure the Senator’s objectives are met effectively in both domestic and international arenas.**
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct research and provide advice on international trade, foreign affairs, transport, and regulatory reform, ensuring alignment with the Senator’s priorities of economic growth, human rights, and environmental sustainability;
- Develop and implement strategies to advance the Senator’s legislative goals in the Senate, focusing on economic engagement and social responsibility;
- Build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders, including Indigenous communities, global trade partners, and environmental organizations, to support collaborative solutions;
- Lead the creation of speeches, media releases, and social media content to clearly communicate the Senator’s positions and priorities.

The general public to staff one (1) indeterminate full-time position in the Office of the Honourable Senator Duncan Wilson.

**Prerequisites**
- University degree from a recognized university in political science, law, business or any other field related to the duties of the position and/or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience;
- Extensive experience in building and maintaining relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including Indigenous communities, government officials, and industry leaders;
- Significant experience working with senior officials, parliamentarians, and the media, with a proven ability to effectively represent the Senator’s interests;
- Exceptional writing, research, analytical, and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to produce policy briefs, speeches, and other strategic materials;
- Ability to thrive in a high-energy, fast-paced environment, with the flexibility to adapt to evolving issues and priorities;
- Strong awareness of current affairs, particularly in international trade, foreign affairs, and regulatory reform, with the ability to anticipate their impact on the Senator’s work and provide timely briefings;
- A solid understanding of the functions of the Senate and the political climate, with the ability to provide sound strategic advice and recommendations;
- Experience working with Indigenous communities and knowledge of British Columbia is an asset;
- Expert proficiency in English, with working knowledge of French considered an asset.
