Utility Pole Inspection Foreman

**Summary**:Performs inspection, maintenance, and/or restoration of utility infrastructure. Responsible for the direct supervision of field crews while planning, organizing, and coordinating daily field operations for various job types. Must be at least 21 years of age. **Responsibilities**:Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions described below: - Maintain good customer and public relations by maintaining a professional appearance, being courteous, and communicating in a clear, respectful manner - Maintain a positive company image, including the appearance of the crew, vehicles, and work areas. - Train, motivate and oversee a crew of up to ten (10) employees of diverse backgrounds and skill levels - Effectively manage daily work and crew to meet safety, quality, production, expense control, and crew management goals. - Organize resources and prioritize work to complete job within established timeframe. - Operate vehicles to transport material, equipment, and crew to and from job site including utility vehicles (UTVs) and trailer towing as needed - Collect, record, and submit accurate, complete, and timely data related to timekeeping, payroll, and work performed. - Promote and enforce safety by conducting daily briefings, weekly safety meetings, ensuring safe work practices are followed, monitoring and maintaining tool condition, and ensuring all drivers of company vehicles are qualified through company programs. - Properly maintain all vehicles, equipment, and tools used by the crew. - Maintain adequate inventory of equipment, tools, materials, and supplies. - Enforce and comply with all company and/or customer-required policies and procedures, including but not limited to crew member coaching, Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace, prohibition of harassment, discrimination, and retaliation. **Competencies**: - Integrity and Respect: Conducts work with honesty, integrity, and humility to build trust and gain respect; can be trusted to "do the right thing"; treats others with respect; accepts and values differences; takes responsibility, admits mistakes, and seeks assistance when needed. - Action-Oriented: Enjoys physically challenging and demanding outdoor work; self starter, motivated, and independent worker; able to balance competing priorities while achieving results. - Directing Others: Establishes and clearly communicates expectations and work direction; challenges others to go beyond minimum expectations; distributes the workload appropriately and provides needed resources; maintains open communications and provides coaching and feedback on performance. - Drive for Results: Consistent performer; seeks-and encourages others-to exceed expectations and goals; able to meet production expectations, milestones, and goals, while being mindful of safety quality, and compliance. **Certificates, Licenses, and/or Registrations**:Must possess a valid provincial driver's license with no DUI/DWI convictions within the previous five (5) years. This period may be reduced to two (2) years if the applicant provides evidence of completing a state-certified rehabilitation course provided, there are no additional moving violations in this two (2) year period. Ability to maintain First Aid and CPR certifications (e.g., Red Cross). May be required to obtain (or work under) a provincial pesticide applicator license. May be required to obtain and pass a DOT medical exam. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees of the organization. **Physical Demands**:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk. They must have full range of mobility in upper and lower body. The employee is frequently required to sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk; hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. **Travel**:Varies by customer and/or location, and can include frequent Monday through Saturday overnight travel throughout one or more provinces. Extended work weeks and overtime hours are probable during peak work periods or for specific jobs. Must maintain consistent attendance record and be available for work Monday through Saturday.
