Veterinary Practice Manager

The Edmonton Holistic Veterinary Clinic is an innovative, human-animal-bond focused and privately owned small animal clinic employing seven veterinarians and twelve support staff. Our staff are experienced, skilled, and take pride in their work and in our delivery of animal care. In order to maintain our positive work culture and high standard of care and client communication, we are currently seeking a Clinic Manager to fulfill the following duties:

- **Direct Supervision and Guidance of Reception/Veterinary Medical Assistant Staff**:

- Be available and willing to perform client care/reception roles and/or VMA/RVT duties as required (sometimes on short notice due to planned or unplanned absence), ensure adequate staffing coverage
- Direct supervision and collaboration with experienced reception staff and development of clerical/administrative procedural standards
- Human resources/coordination of support staff schedules, reviews, maintains support staff employment agreements
- Verify accuracy of timesheets and ensure timely submission to payroll
- **Works as Liaison between Clinic Owner, Registered Veterinary Technologist Team Leads, Veterinarians, and Reception Staff**:

- Provide support and maintain positive employee relationships
- Receive, coordinate, and implement feasible suggestions and ideas
- Maintain regular meeting schedules and coordinate/implement communication and workflow/role definitions between teams
- Reports to clinic owner and helps maintain EHVC Core Values
- **Prioritization of Client Experience and Patient Comfort**:

- Addresses client concerns as appropriate
- Maintains follow up on accounts receivables and collections
- Finds opportunities to optimize client and patient experience in-clinic and through training/implementing strategies and technologies for veterinarian and staff communication
- **Various Administrative and Marketing Duties, as appropriate**:

- If qualified, maintain website updates, general marketing and client communication via social media and direct marketing/updates
- Adjunctive support/liaison between bookkeeping, EHVC, and vendors/business accounts
- **Schedule Expectations**:

- Monday to Friday, no Statutory holidays or weekends. 4.5-5 days per week with ability to work until 6:30 pm consistently
- **Education and Experience**:

- 2+ years working in small animal veterinary practice _required_
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business Administration, Human Resources Management, or equivalent preferred
- Alternately, Registered Veterinary Technologist or Veterinary Medical Assistant with significant additional documented training/experience in veterinary practice management or equivalent skills

Pay: $60,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
