Established in 1989, EXEL Contracting is a COR Certified leader in landscape construction, grounds maintenance and snow removal in Eastern Ontario. We are currently seeking a Purchaser who will perform a variety of tasks and duties to ensure EXEL obtains the goods and services it needs at the best possible price and timeframe.

**Job Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Liaise with suppliers for construction and maintenance jobs, garage supplies, as well as office services and supplies.
- Negotiate prices and timelines.
- Coordinate shipments and track receipt for plant products, soil, aggregates, and other items, as required.
- Arrange deliveries and pick-ups or returns.
- Resolve discrepancies in quantities and pricing between purchase orders and invoices.
- Assist in large volume and big-ticket item purchases with the Owner and Operations Manager.
- Complete an annual update on supplier pricing, new products available, and products of special interest. Work with the Operations Manager and Owner to set cost-savings goals for the upcoming year.
- Complete regular reviews of pricing and agreements, and report to the Operations Manager monthly on cost-saving activities undertaken.
- Maintain relationships with multiple suppliers for regular purchases.
- Work with cellular provider on contract renewals, new devices, and ongoing services.
- Maintain an inventory of company-branded items and PPE.
- Liaise with the Dispatcher to order equipment rentals and co-ordinate returns.
- Maintain a list of annual subscriptions/memberships and complete renewals.
- Negotiate volume discounts and rebates and track relevant purchases.
- Track weekly fuel prices and communicate to the management team.
- Coordinate quarterly with supplier and internal stakeholders to arrange purchase of promo items.
- Build and maintain record of inventory and non-inventory items within NetSuite. Coordinate with dispatcher to ensure inventory changes are recorded.
- Create and issue purchase orders within NetSuite and upload record to appropriate locations.
- Arrange ticketing and travel to industry events for self and coworkers.
- Negotiate leasing agreements and arrange return at end of period for office laptops.
- Assist with basic IT support issues and escalation of tickets to MSP (Managed Service Provider).
- Conduct quarterly review with MSP to ensure SLA (Service Level Agreement) continues to be met.
- Create and update approval processes, saved searches, and PDF templates within NetSuite.

**Requirements and Qualifications**
- 2+ years of proven experience in procurement
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize job responsibilities
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Experience with Netsuite would be considered an asset
- Understanding of basic IT support issues an asset

**Job Type**
- Full-time, permanent
