**Job Description**:
Purpose and Scope:
As a member of the Materials team, the Purchasing Clerk reports to the Buyer Supervisor. The Purchasing Clerk is responsible for assisting the Buyer with coordinating activities involved with procuring goods and services, such as raw material, equipment, tools, parts, production consumables and supplies for the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Adheres to the Purchasing Work Instructions to insure that requisitions follow the proper procedures in regards to receiving the necessary approvals and or authorizations.

Work with maintenance department to determine services and 1-off parts, preparing RFP/RFQ to machine shops, tracking and following up on repairs that go out.

Support Accounting, Engineering and Production for updates and information.

Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with the appropriate quality control personnel, users, vendors, and or others to determine the root cause and take corrective action.

Maintain part numbers for all new products including new part numbers, raw material, powder blends, purchasing components, etc.

Maintain the inventory system development to identify obstacles effecting report accuracy.

Communicating and liaising with other Divisions to standardize products and consolidate suppliers.

Maintain control of outside processor activities including releases, follow up and transportation coordination.

Update outside process inventory records and reports.

Perform month end inventory duties including reconciliation with outside processors, outstanding PO’s etc.

Maintaining price updates in EAM and CMS for Stores.

Maintain office supplies.

Other relative job duties as required.

Qualifications, Education And / or Experience:

- Qualifications:_

High School Diploma or College Education relevant to position or equivalent is required (e.g. Business/Supply Chain Management)

Excellent negotiation skills, along with a mechanical aptitude;

Demonstrated ability to coordinate purchasing responsibilities;

Excellent communication skills required along with good interpersonal and proven organizational abilities;

Must be competent with Microsoft Office and ERP systems.

Knowledge of CMS is an asset
