**Internship Overview**

Kuriakos interns serve in a variety of areas throughout the year, learning many aspects of what it means to run a camp, and development workplace and leadership skills to last a lifetime. Interns will work alongside the Kuriakos Directors for mentorship, training and development, as well as working independently and with fellow interns. Interns serve a vital role in Kuriakos operations, but more importantly, Interns are at Kuriakos to grow, learn and develop as individuals and as part of a team.

**Timeframe of Employment**

Intern Applications will be accepted on a year-round basis, for terms of 6-18 months, with preference given to those able to serve an 18-month term from May through the following October, over the course of two summer seasons with the year in between.

Interns will serve as a part of our Spring, Summer and Fall teams from May-October, in a role fitting their skills and interests as well as organizational needs. From October - April Interns will work in the following areas:

- **Program; **work with the Program Director in:

- Program Delivery: Kuriakos Outdoor School, Retreats, Summer camps, Programmed activities for Guest Groups
- Program Development: Planning for future programs, Developing program areas and activities
- Program Follow Up: Cleaning, Reviewing, Paperwork and Reporting
- **Hospitality; **work with the Hospitality Director in:

- Hosting Guest
- Food Service
- Housekeeping
- **Administration and Communications;** work with the Hospitality, Assistant and Program Directors in:

- Covering administrative responsibilities
- Marketing, newsletters, brochures, social media
- Representing the camp at public events as requested (churches, local events, etc.)
- Assist in fundraising and development efforts, with direction from the Executive Director
- **Assist in maintaining the property** in a safe, operational state
- Assist in daily upkeep of the property (shoveling decks, mowing lawns, emptying garbages and recycling etc.)
- Complete maintenance projects around the camp property (painting, minor repairs, etc.)
- Work alongside and with direction from the Property Manager
- **Participate in Growth and Learning opportunities**:

- Participate in all aspects of community life with the staff team (community meals, social events, community care)

**Compensation**

Salary of $1000/month in November-April

Starting at $450/week May-October
