The HR Manager is responsible for all employee functions including human resource planning, employee relations, developing policies and procedures, recruiting and more.
**Responsibilities**:
- Recruitment
- conducting interviews, succession planning, and workforce planning
- Onboarding and orientation
- ensuring new employees have all the tools they need for success at the organization including coordinating with IT, Accounting, and their trainer(s)
- Performance Management
- including compiling probationary and annual review information, documentation, coordinating with supervisor and employee, investigate and manage staff and lawyer concerns
- Training and Development
- identifying gaps in knowledge and coordinating both individual training or group training as needed
- Time Management
- Coordinating of all time off throughout the firm
- Policies and Procedures
- maintaining the firm’s standards, taking recommended actions, staying on top of legislative changes including Employment Standards, OH&S, Human Rights etc., strong knowledge of general best practices
- Benefit and RRSP Administration
- coordinating renewal of benefits, monthly review of usage, setting up new employees, answering questions
- Job Descriptions
- maintaining the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions
- Annual Budget
- Conducting periodic pay surveys, scheduling and conducting job evaluations, preparing annual salary budget, annual review of bonus structure, monitoring and scheduling individual pay actions, recommending and implementing pay structure revisions
Qualifications:
- Education Required: Bachelor’s Degree with Human Resources as the primary focus area
- Experience: 1-3 years HR experience
- CPHR Designation obtained or in progress considered an asset
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong Computer Skills (Microsoft Office
- Word, Excel, Outlook-, web-based computer programs, Adobe)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong time management and organization skills
- Ability to travel and work in various locations throughout Southern Alberta

North and Company has a strong total compensation package. We pay above average salaries for our market with bonus opportunities.
