Route Sales Manager

As we continue to expand our market presence, we are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sales Manager to join our team and drive the growth of our bakery products. As the Route Sales Manager for Mrs. Dunster’s, you will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies related to our Direct to Store delivery system (DSD) to achieve revenue and market share growth. You will lead a dedicated sales team of 30 drivers and collaborate with cross-functional departments to ensure the successful promotion and distribution of our products. Please note that regular travel within the Maritimes will be required.
**Responsibilities**:
- Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to achieve business objectives. Conduct market research to identify new opportunities and stay abreast of industry trends.
- Manage local key accounts as assigned.
- Train and manage the sales team of employee and independent sales representatives. Set performance targets and provide ongoing coaching and feedback to ensure team success.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, distributors, and partners. Address customer needs and concerns to ensure satisfaction and loyalty.
- Work with other functional areas of the business including accounting, warehousing, and operations to ensure customer expectations are met.
- Collaborate with our Director of Key Accounts to create and execute effective promotional campaigns. Implement marketing initiatives to increase product awareness and drive sales.
- Monitor and analyze sales performance data to track progress against targets. Prepare regular reports for senior management and drivers on sales results, market trends, and opportunities.
- Ride alongside drivers regularly to identify opportunities for efficiency and sales growth.
- Conduct quarterly business reviews with drivers.
- Oversee store sales, merchandising, and listing base, ensure compliance to the listing base.
- Maintain route and vacation schedules, including managing spare driver’s schedules.
- Provide unparalleled customer service.
- Collaborate with drivers to schedule and uphold truck maintenance.
- Uphold a safe work environment and adhere to DOT regulations.
- Occasionally drive box trucks over 18' in length when required.
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or relevant experience.
- Proven experience in sales management, preferably in the bakery or food industry.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Results-oriented with a focus on achieving and exceeding sales targets.
- Above average computer skills.
