The basic function of the Outside Technical Salesperson is to promote all the mechanical manufacturers we represent, and to provide accurate and timely support to all stakeholders.- Develop and maintain relationships with all industry stakeholders (Engineers, Architects, Contractors, Developers, Owners etc.), to grow sales and expand market share in accordance with company goals and objectives.
- Promote the sale of mechanical equipment including Air Handling Units, Make Up Air Units, Roof Top Package Units, Heat Pumps, Fancoils, and Hydronics heating..
- This will include:
- Carry out product selections for engineers and contractors.
- Be able to interpret schedules, construction drawings, and specifications.
- Prepare quotations and tenders as well as preparing and issuing submittals.
- Negotiate sales and manage the entire sales cycle from initial enquiry through end of warranty period.
- Attend manufacturer’s factory / training visits, to ensure you are constantly up to date on the latest product developments and software.
- Remain current with industry and local codes regulations, and market trends.
- Maintain an understanding of the competitor’s product offering.
- Plan and execute Lunch and Learn presentations
- Visit job sites when required.
- Plan and accompany customers on factory visits.
- Be a member of ASHRAE and attend monthly meetings.
- Organize and attend trade shows.
- Assist in customer events as required including open houses, sporting events, and lunches.
- A strong understanding of mechanical products and a minimum of 3 years’ experience selling HVAC related mechanical equipment.
- Professional Degree or a Diploma in Engineering Technology preferred.
- Working Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook & Internet Explorer.
- Understanding of how to read & interpret construction drawings.
- Understanding of psychrometric basics.
- Positive attitude, exemplary attendance, ethical business practices, and a reliable team member.-
