**Description**:

And as the Manager, Financial Reporting, you’ll be responsible for leading financial reporting projects and supporting the creation and management of the chart of accounts (COA).
**Why We Need You**:
As the Finance department scales, this role will be critical in optimizing accounting procedures as well as using technology for process improvement and efficiency. Within the first few months, you’ll be responsible for the administration of our accounting system, taking over the maintenance of our chart of accounts as well as internal and external financial reporting.

**What You'll Do**:
**Financial Reporting**
- Gather requirements from internal stakeholders and build management financial reports in Netsuite to meet their reporting needs. Maintain key external reports such as BS, P&L, Gross Margin, EBIT, CFS, and others as required.
- Support management in the achievement of operational plan (EBIT)
- System administrator for our ERP system, Netsuite. Ensure proper testing, approvals, and documentation requirements are met for any system changes.
- Maintain the COA and creation of new reporting dimensions in a manner that supports efficient maintenance of financial reports
- Project manage annual financial statement audit (and quarterly reviews, as required)
- Prepare accounting note disclosures for annual audited financial statements
- Keep on top of new business activities and transactions to ensure accounting policies and documentation are developed as business needs require.
- Lead the process of writing all accounting policy memos required for the yearend audit. This will include researching, writing, or reviewing the accounting on a particular topic.
**Equity**
- In partnership with our People & Culture team, administer the company option plan. Reconcile the company capital reports to the ERP system
- Prepare journal entries for SBC and equity transactions
- Create accounting policies and positions around equity; review key documents and research topics as needed
- Coordination of the approval process for new option grants and company valuation reports (409A)
**Controls and Technology**
- Make accounting procedure recommendations to support the improvement of internal controls and make recommendations to remediate control deficiencies
- Co-ordinate external testing and walkthroughs of internal controls
- Build a risk assessment/prioritization roadmap for how to address weaknesses in internal controls
- Working with the controller, develop the finance technology roadmap considering the long-term needs of the company and scalability
- In partnership with the engineering team, host implementation discussions, scenario planning, and UAT for changes to systems which will address control gaps and inefficiencies in our processes
- Gather requirements for software tools
- Work with the payments team to reduce manual processes and improve scalability and control reliance
- Work with the e-commerce team on an effective strategy for managing merchant payments, providing a good customer experience, and keeping costs to administer payments down
- Coaching and mentoring junior staff members
**Who You Are**:
- A professionally designated accountant, CPA
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience
- Experience with Netsuite or similar ERP systems
- Strong working knowledge of financial statement preparation: US GAAP, SOX, and IFRS
- Strong written communication with respect to reporting
- Proven ability to develop and maintain effective relationships
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to prioritize competing demands and meet deadlines.
- Analytical skills with an attention to detail to research and resolve issues
- Strong computer and reporting skills with advanced proficiency in MS Excel (Power Pivot), PowerPoint, and Word
- Demonstrated initiative in recognizing efficiencies and implementing process improvement initiatives
- Proven ability to both lead and work within a team environment
- Ability to continually challenge the status quo with respect to business processes and operating results.
