Research Associate in _Plant Bioengineering of Specialized Metabolites_

The Research Associate will need to have excellent communications and presentation skills as documented with previous conference presentations, be highly organized, have the ability to manage time effectively, and capable to multitask by working on multiple projects over a period of time. They will be required to have exceptional attention to details, strong documentation skills and able to meet deadlines, as well as be able to work well in an academic setting, with ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities will include:

- Conduct research on the biosynthesis of montbretin-A and related metabolites
- Bioengineer montbretin-A biosynthesis in _Nicotiana benthamiana_
- Carry-out LC-MS analyses of flavonoid metabolites
- Gene discovery using genomic and transcriptomics data, and biochemical characterization of enzymes in flavonoid and plant volatile biosynthesis
- Lead the preparations of research publications
- Contribute to grant proposals for extramural funding
- Train and/or supervise graduate students and technicians in molecular and synthetic biology methods

The expected pay range for this position is $68,923 to $76,000 per year at full time equivalence.
