Studio.89 is a community hub and fair trade social enterprise vegan cafe that encourages conscious consumerism and provides leadership, employment, and volunteer opportunities for youth facing barriers to employment.

**Job Summary**
Reporting to the General Manager, the Café Manager carries the responsibility for the day-to-day management of Studio.89 café. You will demonstrate exemplary leadership skills and ensure staff carry out all duties efficiently while offering a world class customer experience. You will consistently work to increase sales, reduce costs, maintain accurate and sufficient inventory levels, and ensure that food handling and health and safety standards are met.

**People**
- Provide stellar customer service and resolve customer escalations with diplomacy and kindness.
- Foster a fun environment of positive team interaction and collaboration while ensuring assigned tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.
- Coordinate with the Program Manager and Volunteer Coordinator to ensure a balanced use of volunteer hours between the café and events.
- Conduct monthly café staff/volunteer meetings
- Complete annual staff performance reviews.

**Administrative**
- Ensure café balance sheets, cash reports, and related forms are completed daily, and deposits are made at least three times per week.
- Complete biweekly payroll reporting.
- Prepare weekly staff work schedules and find suitable replacements for absences, working with the Volunteer Coordinator, as needed.
- Maintain accurate and adequate inventory levels of all café food and supplies.
- Order and receive café food and supply replenishments accurately.
- Work with suppliers and delivery platforms to ensure cost-effective consistent service.
- Manage catering requests and fulfillment.
- Ensure café expenses are within budget and identify ways to decrease costs and improve margins.
- Oversee adherence to food handling requirements and Health and Safety policies and procedures.]
- Ensure the Program Manager has all resources needed to facilitate successful in-house events and programs.
- Develop and implement strategies to achieve increased revenue and reduced costs.
- Develop menus with a focused balanced between customer feedback, revenue, and margin.
- Monitor café revenue and modify procedures and prices.
- Negotiate arrangements with suppliers for café food and other supplies.
- Conduct health and safety inspections to ensure compliance.
- Develop and implement strategies to achieve increased revenue and reduced costs.
- Develop menus with a focused balanced between customer feedback, revenue, and margin.
- Monitor café revenue and modify procedures and prices.
- Negotiate arrangements with suppliers for café food and other supplies.
- Conduct health and safety inspections to ensure compliance.

**Knowledge/Skills**

- You have proven experience in the hospitality industry.
- You have a valid G license and access to a vehicle.
- You are a people person who likes to have fun while getting the job done.
- You have exceptional customer service skills.
- You have sound knowledge of food health and safety regulations.
- You have strong organizational skills and high attention to detail with the ability to multi-task in a constantly changing environment.
- You can work under pressure to analyze, plan, organize and prioritize effectively.
