Sir James Douglas Out of School Club is looking for a passionate, creative, and kind **Out of School Club Leader** to join our team.

Working in partnership with the Director, the Childcare Coordinator and a wonderful team, Leaders will create and facilitate fun, supportive and inclusive programs that focus on social intelligence and emotional regulation. If you are looking to have some creative freedom and to work with an amazing team, this position is right for you

**Role and Responsibilities**

**Morning Care - 7:15-9:15am**

**Afterschool Care - 2:00-6:00pm**
- Staff must be available for a minimum of 12 hours per weeks and can do either morning care, afterschool care, or a combination of both. Schedules are adjusted each semester (September, January, June)._

**Leaders will**
- supervise 24-30 children with the support of 2 other staff
- report directly to Childcare Coordinator
- create monthly activity calendars
- demonstrate they are approachable, gentle, patient, and playful
- attend daily team meetings
- help children work through big feelings, social conflict, and guide them towards independence

**Requirements**:

- 20 hours of relevant schooling/ training or responsible adult certification
- a love for working directly with children
- ability to set priorities and manage multiple responsibilities
- ability to engage large groups of children
- ability to set clear boundaries with children and follow through
- ability to adapt and adjust plans quickly to meet the needs of children
- ability to remain calm and focused in a high energy environment
- must be 19 years of age or older
- clear criminal record check
- first Aid & CPR level C (or willing to obtain)
