**Davis GMC Buick** is seeking our next great team member to join our Service Department as a **SERVICE ADVISOR**. The Service Advisor is responsible for greeting customers in the service lane, listening to and understanding the problems and service needed, determining the type of service required and preparing the repair orders.
**A successful Service Advisor can expect to earn $60,000 or more annually based on performance (base salary plus bonus).**

**Key Job Responsibilities**:
- Greet customers and establish rapport and trust
- Complete walk around inspection and reviews prior service history to recommend additional needed service and preventative maintenance to the customer when appropriate
- Document mechanical problems with vehicle by listening to the customer describe them and asking questions
- Write description of the customer’s concerns in order to help the technician locate the problems
- Prepare work order for needed and agreed upon repairs
- Prepare detailed estimates on parts and labour for recommended work
- Check on the progress of the repair throughout the day and maintain extensive contact with the customer to provide changes to the estimate or the promised time, explain cost and time requirements in detail and obtain approval before additional repairs are performed
- Review work orders to ensure work is completed, explains the work performed and the repair costs to the customer and close work orders as appropriate
- Manage customer complaints as required
- Maintain effective communication within the department and with leaders in the dealership; working together to identify opportunities and resolve issues
- Performs other tasks and duties as required
**Experience and Skillset**:
- Preference will be given to those with at least 2+ years of experience within the auto industry.
- Exceptional customer service and verbal communication skills including the ability to listen and use tact, sensitivity, empathy, persuasion and professionalism when interacting with customers
- Strong written communication skills to accurately detail customer concerns in order to assist the technician locate the problem and customer concerns
- Exceptional planning, organization and execution skills to effectively manage multiple demands under tight deadlines
- Knowledge of automotive systems and the ability to explain systems and repairs to customers of varying levels of technical understanding
- Excellent teamwork skills to work effectively with technicians and other employees within the department and dealership
- 2-3 years experience working in a customer service position; experience in a service department in the automotive or a related industry is preferred
- Valid Driver’s License
