Kingston, Canada Li-Cycle Corp Full time

**Location**: Kingston, ON

**Job Summary**: The Lead Hand will report to the shift supervisor and assume a key role in assisting the supervisor to manage the operations and logistics at Li-Cycle’s pilot plant for lithium-ion battery recycling in Kingston, ON.

We are seeking a talented, motivated, and top performer to join our team in this role.

**Primary Responsibilities**:

- Run the shift and provide coverage for when shift supervisor is absent.
- Assist the supervisor in managing the day-to-day plant operations
- Monitor and troubleshoot operational issues; escalate to maintenance and operations team as necessary
- Support the supervisor in maintaining strong communication on operational issues between management and shift teams
- Monitor all safety and environmental issues, ensure all employees are working in a safe and responsible manner, and report any issues to the supervisor and/or management
- Ensure and work site free of any waste and maintain neat and clean plant
- Train and mentor employees as required
- Act as temporary supervisor for vacation coverage, including, but not limited to, being responsible for health, safety, and operational production
- Responsible for the health and safety within the workplace and of their crew by asserting due diligence and legal compliance
- Other duties as required

**Job Requirements**:

- Minimum educational requirements: college diploma or technical trade preferred
- Experience in plant operations of an industrial environment
- Trained in Transport of Dangerous Goods (training to be provided as needed)
- Forklift driving experience required
- Excellent technical, communication, organizational, managerial, and planning skills
- Scheduled based on 24-hour shift rotation
