What you'll do:
Reporting to the Director, Finance, the Finance Business Partner will act as an advisor and strategic partner to our Technology Solutions segment and a liaison to the Finance team.

Key Responsibilities:

- Supporting all financial related activities for our Technology Solutions segment including proactively identifying how business decisions will affect accounting and financial reporting and vice versa and supporting business units in developing their portion of the MD&A, budgets and strategic plans.
- Provide information, consultation, advice, and direction on financial issues that contribute to the development of business solutions.
- Support business units in the adoption and use of Workday Financials including assisting and supporting in the preparation of reports, dashboards and other tools while encouraging self-service where possible.
- Provide regular financial and management reporting to each business segment and their managers on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis together with analysis of actual results vs budget vs forecast vs prior year.
- Support the preparation of the operating, capital and balance sheet budgets and forecasts for each segment in consultation with the segment executive with guidance from the Corporate Controller. This also includes analysis of budgets/forecast vs actuals, prior year results and previous budgets forecasts as well as identifying key risks and opportunities with each new budget/forecast.
- Translate and interpret corporate financial metrics, KPI’s, and targets to the business segment directors/managers to increase the segment’s financial acumen and ability to perform against these items.
- Work with business units to develop, report and monitor business segment key performance indicators (KPI’s) highlighting opportunities and risks.
- Other similar tasks as assigned.

Position Requirements:

- In-depth knowledge and understanding of discounted cash flow analysis, accounting policies, processes and procedures, policy development and implementation, all aspects of financial management, strategic planning, business processes, accounting and development of costing models and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and financial management principles and practices.
- Ability to analyze financial results taking into account external and internal drivers, historical and future oriented information and build adequate support and audit trails to support accounting assertions.
- Ability to collaborate with financial market analysis on cost/benefits of business as usual versus opportunities or threats. This includes working independently with the impacted business unit to collect the estimated revenues, initial costs, and ongoing operational expenses and providing a cost benefit analysis which illustrates the financial impact and metrics which can be used to assess the validity of this business opportunity.
- Ability to solve complex problems constructively and effectively communicate results to all individuals involved.
- Knowledge of consulting methods and relationship-building techniques.
