- **Accounting Associate**_

Catholic Community Services of York Region (CCSYR) is a non-profit social service agency providing programs and services to culturally diverse residents in York Region. CCSYR is seeking a reliable, highly efficient as well as motivated accounting associate who coordinates and processes the financial functions of the agency.

**Scope of Practice**:

- Maintain all accounting programs
- Review and analyze accounting data to confirm accuracy of information
- Process account payable and receivable and ensure that payments are made within the established terms of business of CCSYR.
- Responsible for the processing of payroll
- Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with vendor partners.
- Work closely with the Executive Director on finance related matters
- Compile, maintain, produce statistics and various financial and accounting reports for agency and funders.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliation and prepare and make bank deposits.
- Prepare financial statements and tax returns for individuals and the agency
- Maintain and keep track of HR records related to vacation, sick days, group benefits and group RRSP.
- Present financial reports to the board as required Work closely with the auditors on the year end audit

**Required Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
- CPA Designation or equivalent
- Knowledge of accounting practices, procedures and generally accepted accounting principles
- 7-10 years of proven track record in finance and payroll
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills with critical attention to detail.
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with all stakeholders.
- Track record of building and maintaining strong working relationships cross functionally and with external stakeholders.
- Strong conflict resolution and creative problem-solving skills.
- Actively participate in quality improvement strategies and/or initiatives that create efficiencies in Finance
- Knowledge on Employment Standards Act.
- Experience in using Online QuickBooks, and Business Online Banking.
- A satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Criminal Records check.
- Fully vaccinated status (with minimum two covid 19 vaccine shots) able to provide proof of vaccinations

**Considered an asset**:

- Experience in the not-for-profit sector
- Experience preparing funding proposals and ministry reporting is an asset
- Previous experience with Payworks and government funding reporting portals
- Previous experience in project management

**Location**: York Region

**Hours**: Full-time 37.5 hours per week. (Possibility for renewal)
