Position Summary

This Student role will have the opportunity to learn about the inner workings of a fast paced Finance Department while providing support to the staff, patients and visitors through various functions.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Conduct financial analysis and research to support decision-making processes.
- Help with budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Participate in the month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Support the finance team in daily operations, including accounts payable and receivable.
- Assist in the preparation of tax documents and compliance reports.
- Collaborate with other departments to gather and analyze financial data.
- Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and projects as needed.
- Performs other duties as may be assigned by the direct manager.
**Qualifications**:
- QUALIFICATIONS:
**Education**:
- Current enrolment in a post-secondary educational program at an Accredited College or University is required.
**Experience**:
- Prior internship or work experience in finance is an asset.
- Prior experience working in Finance is an asset
Competencies:
- Ability to work independently and use good judgment and conduct themselves in a professional manner while maintaining confidentiality
- Ability to communicate (both verbally and in writing) effectively with physicians, other paramedical staff, and the public,
- Perform in a high volume, organized and routine manner
- Perform with great attention to detail and high degree of accuracy
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of financial principles and accounting practices.
