**Job Overview**
We are seeking a dynamic Community Engagement and Program Coordinator to join our team, on a 1-year contract basis. The Community Engagement and Program Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing community relationship building, program delivery, and engaging with the general public within the organization.

**Duties**:

- To promote healthy relationships within Colchester and East Hants Counties
- Host and attend community events and festivals to promote the importance of building and sustaining healthy relationships
- Develop and deliver programming that promotes healthy relationships
- Build community relationships that promote inclusivity in services
- Assist with all social media accounts for Third Place
- Engage with the general public around the supports and services offered by Third Place
- Listen and respond with a trauma-informed and culturally sensitive lens, while providing referrals to Support Counsellors, Family Support Worker, Outreach Worker, or other community agencies
- Research new and innovative ways to engage the community
- Provide administrative support to the Executive Director as required
- Conduct other duties/services as directed by the Executive Director

**Skills**
- Firm understanding and commitment to the principles of trauma-informed care
- Eagerness to interact with the community as it relates to celebrating healthy relationships
- Ability to manage and create social media content and accounts
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills
- Able to manage personal self-care and wellness
- Demonstrated leadership qualities in driving program success

**Qualifications**
- Diploma in event management, public relations, social services, administration or equivalent combination of training and expertise
- A minimum of 1-year experience in a related field with a strong understanding of the dynamics of domestic violence, systemic racism, poverty, 2SLGBTQIA+ and culturally responsive practices
- Applicant must be willing to travel within Colchester and East Hants Counties on a regular basis, and to other areas of the province on occasion
- A valid driver’s license, insurance and reliable vehicle
- Clear Criminal Record/Vulnerable Sector & Child Abuse Registry Check

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: $24.30 per hour

Expected hours: 30 per week
