Key Accountabilities:

- Customer Service:_- Deliver established service standards through effective communication with all involved parties.- Demystify the claims process by setting clear expectations and providing ongoing status updates throughout the claim's lifecycle.- Immediately identify and deploy Field Services /Restoration Contractors as required.- Reinforce the Northbridge brand by building and maintaining positive relationships with all involved parties.
- Productivity:_- Through the use of critical thinking, analytical skills and problem solving, proactively seek timely and cost-effective claims resolution.- Create and implement an action plan for each file including proactive follow ups to ensure timely resolution.- Proactively manage service providers to file conclusion.- Process payments promptly within established timelines.- Prepare files summaries for litigation and mediation, large loss and reinsurance as required.
- Quality:_- Ensure all claims are thoroughly investigated and documented through contact with all identified and involved parties (e.g. insurers, claimants, witnesses, etc.).- Ensure every claim file includes a thorough and documented coverage review in accordance with Northbridge best practices.-
- Set and maintain accurate reserves throughout the claims lifecycle by reviewing all relevant information.- Based on file complexity, ensure settlement decisions are fully detailed in the file notes.- Immediately identify and take necessary actions to maximize subrogation opportunities- Establish and ensure litigation disposition plans and budgets are completed and adhered to by counsel.- Identify, investigate and refer claims with irregularities to SIU.
- People:_- Develop relationships with other team members and departments to further business goals.- Work collaboratively on special projects and assignments when required.
- Other:_- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education and / or equivalent on the job experience.- Minimum 3 years of Property and / or Marine Claims adjusting experience.- General working knowledge of claims settlement, policy wordings, insurance contracts, fraud investigations, serious losses, and coverage questions.-
- Actively pursuing CIP/FCIP designation an asset.- Fluently bilingual (English/French) is a definite asset (a requirement in Quebec region).- Provincial licensing where required.- Familiarity of applicable case law/arbitration decisions and provincial legislation.- Familiarity in establishing and monitoring litigation disposition plans.

Working Conditions:
- Indoors in normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, fumes, vibrations, and temperature.- Frequent computer use at a workstation.
