Sagard is a UN PRI signatory and strives to measure and assess the social and economic impact it has on the people and businesses within our network, as well as on our society as a whole. **Position overview**: We are currently looking for an outstanding individual to join our fast-paced and rapidly growing team as an ESG Principal in Montreal or Toronto. **Your Responsibilities**: - Drive the continued development and implementation of Sagard's ESG program alongside Sagard leadership, providing strategic direction, managing consultants, and engaging with vendors and internal collaborators, including investment teams and investor relations. - Take ownership over ESG reporting by coordinating data-gathering processes across multiple investment platforms and asset classes. - Orchestrate the creation of various reports, including annual UN PRI Report for Sagard, annual investor (LP) reporting, reporting to regulators as required. - Monitor relevant ESG regulatory and disclosure developments as well as industry reporting trends and support the adaptation as necessary. - Work with Sagard's investment businesses on key ESG performance drivers and tools/metrics. - Respond to all requests pertaining to any ESG matters including investor due diligence questionnaires/scorecards, board presentations, and other materials. - Help deploy new practices and technology to improve the IR team's capabilities on ESG matters. **Experience & Qualifications**: - Bachelor's or Master's degree in business, sustainability, or related field. - Experience: 5-10 years, preferably in the financial services industry with tangible ESG experience. - Proven interest and experience related to ESG issues and motivated to build systems for Sagard to succeed in its ESG journey. - Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and capable of multitasking with strong attention to detail. - Strong analytical, data manipulation and management skills. - Excellent leadership skills with a proven ability to develop positive relationships with both internal and external partners. - Proactive and motivated, collaborative, and resourceful with technical proficiency and interpersonal skills combined with the desire to work closely with a variety of teams across the company. - Over time, act as a resource to portfolio companies to support and develop their ESG programs. - _Strategic and hands-on - Strategic demeanour coupled with willingness and interest to work across business lines of the organization both to plan and complete projects_ - _Rigorous - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; organized and exceptional attention to detail; a high degree of accuracy in a fast-paced, results-oriented workplace; hard-working and willingness to work nights and weekends when required_ - _Proactive and innovative - Thrives in an unstructured working environment; curious and eager to learn about a wide variety of topics; suggests new ideas and new ways of working_ - _Collaborative - Inclusive operating style coupled with a hands-on, results-oriented attitude_ - _Excellent spoken and written in English; ideally also effective in French_ Sagard is an equal opportunity employer, which values diversity in the workplace.
