**Position Overview**

We are seeking a **Safety Site Inspector** with a strong background in underground construction and an in-depth understanding of Ontario's utility locate process. This role is critical to ensuring safe excavation and horizontal directional drilling (HDD) activities, through proper planning, documentation, and on-site inspection.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Conduct regular safety inspections on active construction sites.
- Review and verify utility locates, ensuring that all locate documentation is accurate, complete, and up-to-date.
- Ensure that locate markings are visible, accurate, and protected during operations.
- Support and enforce compliance with OHSA and company safety policies.
- Investigate incidents or near misses related to buried infrastructure.
- Deliver toolbox talks and assist with on-site training and safety meetings.
- Prepare inspection reports, hazard assessments, and recommend corrective actions.
- Monitor safe work procedures during HDD, excavation, and vacuum work.

**Qualifications**
- 3+ years of experience in health and safety within construction, preferably in underground utilities.
- Strong knowledge of Ontario’s utility locate process, including Ontario One Call requirements.
- Working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and applicable regulations.
- Valid Health and Safety certifications (e.g., Working at Heights, Confined Space, First Aid).
- CET, CHSO, or CRSP designation is considered an asset.
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
- Valid Ontario driver’s license with a clean driving record.
