Facility Maintenance Manager

**Glenmore Custom Print & Packaging is one of the leading packaging & commercial printers in the Pacific Northwest **and we are looking for a **Facility Maintenance Manager **to join our Richmond team The incumbent is a key member of the Operations leadership team reporting to the Chief Operating Officer and will be an integral collaborator in the planning, optimization and transformation of the engineering and industrial design and operations management systems at Glenmore. **Responsibilities**: - Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical systems - Resolve any breakdowns quickly and efficiently in collaboration with manufacturing and operations teams - Recommend, explain and develop a machinery and services efficiency plan - Set up secure, access-controlled maintenance department working area on designated mezzanines - Maintain and execute a "Master Projects List" soliciting input from all departments - Support and help implement Continuous Improvement '5S' lean practices in all machinery operations - Ensure all machine operators and crews have the correct tools available and that they are kept organized and on the designated boards, storage and usage areas - Create and maintain an inventory of all machinery and spare parts and the operating manuals, key service and parts contacts, etc. - Participate actively in the Health & Safety Committee - Create and maintain a 'Maintenance Request' routine and system (working with IT) and educate all staff on how to make requests and how they are prioritized - Manage contractor services and relationships as needs arise which are outside of internal capabilities - Partner with operations to optimize machine use and perform preventative maintenance - Order new parts or arrange refurbishments, repairs or maintenance as needed for routine maintenance requirements and special projects - Organize and arrange cosmetic maintenance and housekeeping of building, parking lots, shipping yards, work areas, walls, machinery panels (e.g. continuous cycle for powder coating of damaged or worn panels) - Survey the facility and production equipment/machinery to ensure compliance with health and safety standards - Conduct general facility maintenance (e.g. landscaping, painting, renovations, pest control) - Inspect and oversee all alarm & security systems (e.g. fire, security) and schedule repairs - Assist in the setup of HVAC, ventilation, refrigeration, heating, plumbing and other systems and conduct repairs - Develop preventative maintenance schedules and SOPs - Assist in budget preparation of maintenance matters - Lead a small team of staff (janitor and casual labor support) initially **Attributes**: - Positive and 'can-do' attitude is essential (Glenmore has over 500 customers that require exceptional service as a standard value proposition) - Strong customer and internal service orientation; team player - Growth and continuous improvement mindset - Always engaged and always learning - High mechanical aptitude and high energy level - Strives to achieve and maintain a clean and organized work environment and maintenance support areas **Regular Work Hours**: - Sunday to Thursday or Tuesday to Saturday, 7am/8am to 3:30pm/4:30pm; ability to work outside of regular hours (e.g. evening/early morning) in the case of an emergency is required **Required Qualifications**: - Minimum 7 years of maintenance experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment, ideally in the printing and converting industry - Red seal millwright or red seal electrician - Working knowledge of all hand & power tools, metal and plastic parts fabrication, common appliances and devices - Strong understanding of mechanical, PLC, electrical, hydraulic, servo, stepper, and other systems - High mechanical aptitude, excellent manual dexterity and problem-solving skills - The following are considered a great asset: printing and packaging industry experience, PLC programming and familiarity, ability to operate a metal lathe, certificate in HVAC, and electrical experience - Ability to handle up to 50 lbs - Team player who is committed to contributing to a safe, inclusive, and productive work environment **What We Offer**: - Competitive compensation (depends on experience) - Comprehensive benefits package (extended health and dental, life insurance, etc.) - Diverse and inclusive workplace - Career advancement opportunities **About Glenmore Custom Print & Packaging**: Family-owned and operated, Glenmore Custom Print & Packaging has been serving Vancouver and Pacific Northwest since 1981 as Vancouver's Premium Print and Packaging House.
