**About The Role**:
The People & Culture Strategist (Business Partner) is responsible for providing advice, consultation, and support to staff at all levels at Ecojustice related to the professional practice of People & Culture. Specifically, the P&C Strategist leads recruitment, employee relations & engagement, culture & recognition, assists with diversity, equity & inclusion initiatives, and training and development. They initiate the implementation and review of People & Culture services, policies, and programs. The People & Culture Strategist (Business Partner) also serves as the front-line, first point of contact for staff nationally.
The People & Culture Business Partner works to deliver People & Culture practices and objectives that will provide a high-performance culture emphasizing impact, excellence, integrity, collaboration, courage, and dedication. Some main responsibilities include:
- Champions people practices by continuously improving people & culture administration, policies, compliance and processes;
- Provides mentorship to the People & Culture Associate’s day-to-day responsibilities;
- Leads strategic full-cycle recruitment and onboarding across the organization, including consultation on workforce planning and community outreach;
- Participates in recruitment and networking-related activities. Connects and builds relationships with student associations, diverse groups, and employment agencies;
- Participates in JEDI/R (justice, equity, diversity & inclusion and reconciliation) initiatives;
- Guides people leaders in employee performance & culture optimization;
- Leads the organization’s PPP (People Potential Program), including its execution, monitoring, re-design and optimization;
- Develops a robust ‘stay and work’ and ‘return to work program’, keeping employee wellness top of mind, and leads the re-integration process for returning staff from LOA;
- Develops and lead Ecojustice’s employee recognition program, including the incorporation of both formalized feedback and informal peer-to-peer feedback;
- Participates in the creation and facilitation of training and development initiatives.
**Role Success**:
- 6-8 years of experience in an HR Generalist role responsible for all areas of human resources, including recruitment, training, employee relations, and HRIS.
- University Degree, Diploma or Certificate in HR Management; a combination of education and experience will be considered.
- CPHR designation is an asset.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to build rapport and maintain professional relationships; Customer service centric.
- Ability to use discretion in handling confidential information.
- Demonstrated emotional intelligence and the ability to manage through change.
- Excellent problem-solving and time management skills.
