The Financial Controller for Galt Country Club is responsible for overseeing all financial activities of the club, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with relevant regulations and standards. This position plays a crucial role in financial planning, budgeting, reporting, and analysis to support the club's strategic objectives and sustainable growth.
**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
**Financial Planning and Analysis**: Develop and implement financial plans, budgets, and forecasts in collaboration with the management team. Conduct financial analysis and performance evaluations to provide insights and recommendations for decision-making. Monitor financial metrics and key performance indicators to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
**Accounting and Reporting**: Oversee all accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll. Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, reports, and analysis for management and stakeholders. Maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
**Cash Flow Management**: Manage cash flow to optimize liquidity and meet financial obligations. Monitor banking activities, reconcile bank statements, and manage relationships with financial institutions. Implement effective cash management strategies to minimize risks and maximize returns on investments.
**Budget Management**: Coordinate the annual budgeting process and provide guidance to department heads on budget preparation. Monitor budget performance, analyze variances, and recommend corrective actions as needed. Prepare regular budget reports and presentations for management and board review.
**Financial Compliance**: Ensure compliance with tax regulations, financial reporting requirements, and other statutory obligations. Liaise with external auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory bodies as necessary. Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and regulations to ensure adherence and mitigate risks.
**Board and Committee Reporting and Governance**:Prepare financial reports and presentations for presentation to the board of directors or General Manager. Provide regular updates on financial performance, key metrics, and significant financial issues impacting the club. Collaborate with the Management, Board of Directors and the Finance Committee to develop financial strategies and policies aligned with the club's mission, vision, and long-term objectives.
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
Proven experience as a Financial Controller or similar role, preferably in the hospitality or leisure industry.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis, and budgeting processes.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Jonas club management software is a plus.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Strong interpersonal abilities with a focus on teamwork and collaboration.
Ability to communicate complex financial information effectively to non-financial stakeholders.
High level of integrity, ethics, and professionalism.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Onsite 40-44-hour work week.:
Team office environment 4-5 team members
2-3 Evenings a month
Pay: $85,000.00-$110,461.83 per year
