Established in 2012, **S.M.A.R.T. Tutoring and Test Preparation Services** is expanding to serve our growing student population in Barrie, ON and the surrounding area.

We are a professional organization, currently looking to hire **qualified Math Teachers**, on a subcontract basis, to provide mobile Mathematics Tutoring and Test Preparation Services to students in Grades 9-12.

**We Have Tutoring Work Near You**:

- Barrie SW/ Essa (Angus, Borden, Thornton)
- Barrie SE/ Stroud
- Barrie NW/ Springwater (Midhurst, Minesing)
- Barrie NE/ Oro-Medonte (Horseshoe Valley, Shanty Bay)

Only qualified teachers who are able to tutor a minimum of 5 hours per week need apply.

**Preferred Education & Experience**:

- Degree in Mathematics
- Bachelor of Education
- Working knowledge of the Ontario Curriculum
- OCT Certification an asset
- Additional Teaching Qualifications an asset

This position requires a sound knowledge in Mathematics, communication skills to explain concepts clearly, and the ability to also tutor students in the following:

- Note Taking
- Time Management
- Task Management
- Test Taking Strategies

In addition to appropriate teaching qualifications, Tutors must have weeknight availability, their own means of reliable transportation, and a current Vulnerable Sector Police Check (upon hire).

**Definition of Duties**
- Tutoring and Test Preparation
- Provide schoolwork support, summer review/ preview of grade appropriate concepts, instruction of lessons, and applicable learning activities for individual tutoring and/ or test preparation at the student’s home.
- Undertake to prepare prior to scheduled sessions and to structure the sessions in such a way as to optimize time to benefit the student.
- Assist students in understanding concepts, processes, and structures.
- Work within the S.M.A.R.T. Tutoring framework and communicate policies and procedures to Students/ Parents as needed.

Pay: $28.00-$34.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 5 per week
