S.M.A.R.T. Tutoring and Test Preparation Services is hiring **qualified teachers** to provide 1:1 in-home tutoring services to elementary and high school students on a regular weekly basis.

**Tutor in the Divisions You're Qualified to Teach**:

- Primary: Grade 1 - Grade 3 Mathematics and Language
- Junior: Grade 4 - 6 Mathematics and Language
- Intermediate: Grade 7 - Grade 10 Mathematics and Language

**S.M.A.R.T. Tutoring Makes the Connection between Tutors and Students Easy**

Our tutors focus on their S.M.A.R.T. Tutoring Objectives and the progression of their students. The S.M.A.R.T. Tutoring Administration team handles the rest.
- Work with the same students, following the Ontario Curriculum, on a regular weekly basis.
- Review/ preview grade-appropriate concepts, teach short lessons, and facilitate relevant learning activities to assist student understanding.
- Teach student-centred study strategies and test preparation strategies.
- Collaborate with a team of teachers and access shared resources.

**Education and Qualifications**
- Bachelor of Education
- Ontario College of Teachers Certification or Transitional Certificate
- Current knowledge and experience with the Ontario Curriculum
- Vulnerable Sector Screening (required upon hire)

**Skills**
- Communication and interpersonal skills to confidently explain information
- Administrative and organizational skills to manage time and meet deadlines
- Responsibility to understand and work independently within an outlined framework
- Teamwork skills to collaborate and contribute to our tutoring community and its unity

**Tutor in Your Local Area**
- Barrie NE/ Oro-Medonte (Horseshoe Valley, Shanty Bay)
- Barrie NW/ Springwater (Midhurst, Minesing, Moonstone)
- Barrie SW/ Essa (Angus, Borden, Thornton)
- Barrie SE/ Stroud

**Work Hours**
- Schedule your own working hours (minimum 4 hours per week)
- Tutoring typically happens after school (September - June) 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm
- Summer Review/ Preview Sessions (July - August) 9:00 am - 8:00 pm
- Applicants must be available to start immediately and be able to commit their time until June 30, 2026.

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 4 per week
