**About the Position**

The Originating Heading is responsible for preparing materials and troubleshooting problems. This position requires the use of various tools and measuring instruments.

**Specific Responsibilities**
- Set up, troubleshoot, and complete changeovers.
- Prepare material and load on wire draw machines.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any tooling problems with lead hands and Supervisor.
- Daily use of **hand tools** (wrenches, wire cuters, etc.), **power tools** (airguns, hydraulic cutters, etc), **and measuring instruments** (verniers, micrometers, etc.)
- Advise Supervisor of needed maintenance repairs and supplies for the department.
- Record production in ERP and complete daily production sheets.
- Daily inspection of machine monitors are working and oil levels are correct.
- Work closely with Tool Room and Engineering to recommend any necessary tool changes required to run product and development.
- Perform material verification sign offs.
- Ensure work area is clean and organized at all times.

**Qualifications**
- 3+ years’ experience operating machinery in a manual environment
- Knowledgeable of machine operations and lock-out-tag-out.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments required.
- Secondary School Diploma or equivalent, preferred.
- Forklift Operation Certification, preferred.
- Ability to follow Health & Safety processes and practices.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.

**Physical demands of position**:

- Moving product and supplies throughout plant on daily basis with use of forklift and other equipment.
- Bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, carrying, lifting, climbing, gripping, stooping and generally moving about machines.
- Tightening and loosening bolts/nuts.
- Visual acuity sufficient to fill out and read forms, measuring devices and drawings.

A standardized mechanical aptitude test will be administered as a final step to assess competency in mechanics, math and tools.

Pay: From $27.94 per hour
