Full Time Permanent - Remote Based Position

THE OPPORTUNITY

As an integral member of the financial accounting Team, the Associate Specialist, Accounting participates in the full cycle accounting process, responsible for the preparation of various financial reports in accordance with US GAAP, and analyses of company financial data.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Completion of assigned month-end accounting close processes and procedures
Prepare and input accounting entries into SAP including completion of appropriate documentation and supporting work papers
Calculate and enter various accruals
Prepare detailed month-end general ledger account reconciliations to support account balances
Assist others in tax and compliance areas including sales and use tac, property tax, tax audits, etc.
Respond to various queries and requests from external/internal auditors
Analyze and investigate variances and prepare reconciliation vs. budget, actual, forecast and prior year’s results
Complete Special projects and non-routine assignments as may be required by management

**EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS**:
CPA Designation or Enrolled in the CPA program and have three to five years’ experience in finance or accounting
Experience in US GAAP/IFRS and financial statement preparation
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Power point
Experience with financial systems (SAP/ERP preferred)
Previous experience in a fast paced manufacturing environment as well as a public company and multi-currency experience are assets
Ability to work at both detailed analytical level and at summary level on projects and assignments with speed and accuracy
Ability to multi-task and manage deadlines is essential
Effective written and interpersonal communication skills

**ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS**:
Citizenship/Permanent Resident or Valid Work Permit.
Successful Completion of a Criminal Record Check.
