WaveStar Networks is a National company operating in the communications industry.

We are currently looking for Fiber Optic technicians to join our growing team within the Halifax and surrounding area.

**Duties and Responsibilities** **includes but not limited to**:

- Read and comprehend communication design reports pertaining to work assigned.
- Provide status updates on projects to the Lead technicians daily and report any roadblocks that are expected.
- Able to identify problems, make a diagnosis, and make corrections as needed.
- Complete daily paperwork (update “as built” documents, time sheets etc.)
- Clean and maintain tools and equipment.

**Skills Requirements**
- Minimum 1 year previous Fibre splicing experience.
- Ability to work in a fast paced and physically demanding role, all while putting safety as a priority.
- Physically able to carry and lift a 28ft ladder.
- Ability to maneuver, lift and work with heavy objects/equipment in the field. (e.g. manhole covers, handwell lids)
- Demonstrate effective decision-making skills under pressure, as well as working efficiently under limited supervision.
- Comfortable working in confined spaces in commercial and residential buildings, as well as underground. Will train and certify
- Must be able to operate hand and power tools in a safe manner.
- Good communication skills with all crew members, as well as with clients of WaveStar.
- Ability to work as part of a team is a requirement at WaveStar Networks.
- Must be willing to work as part of a scheduled on call team, weekends and emergency call outs as required.
- Must be willing to take training courses as offered in order to fulfill safety requirements for the job.
- Must have valid Driver’s licence with clean drivers abstract.
- Must wear all Personal Protective Equipment.
- Previous Civil experience considered an asset
- Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
