**PURPOSE**

U-Pak Group of Companies is seeking a Payroll Supervisor for our organization. This position is responsible all aspects of the payroll cycle.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**

The Payroll Supervisor will be responsible for daily operations and supervision, ensuring payroll is processed with accurate calculations of wages, tax withholdings and company deductions. To perform this role successfully, you must be able to manage multiple duties within the following key areas. Other responsibilities may be assigned as required:
Process multiple payroll cycles for various companies. Overseeing the timely preparation, processing, maintenance and appropriate distribution of the payroll information, payroll reports, all tax year end reports, payroll manuals and related payroll working instructions.

Responsible for reviewing and providing final approval sign-off for all payrolls every pay period.

Demonstrate and explain complex payroll information. Prepare various monthly reporting of payroll accruals such as vacation pay, vacation time, etc.

Provide support for all payroll-related matters as needed. Monitor payroll inbox and reply in a timely manner.

Perform review of data entered by the Payroll Specialist in payroll software to include by not limited to salary/wage increases benefit deductions, employee terminations, as well as review and approve the preview register before accepting payroll for processing.

Review and reconcile quarterly and year end payroll reports including T4’s and other required reporting.

Prepare and reconcile monthly benefit reports for processing

Research, recommend and implement new and enhanced policies, procedures and processes to improve operational effectiveness.

**SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS**
- 2-5 years experience in payroll department with both hourly and salaried employees
- Proficiency in using ADP and Payworks Payroll Software
- Canadian Professional payroll course completions
- Detailed oriented with strong analytical
- Supervisory experience - Demonstrated leadership skills; ability to coach, mentor and train employees.
- Microsoft Office proficiency is required (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook)
- Excellent communication skills are required to establish productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Exceptional time management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
