The Truro Sawmill is looking to fill general labourer jobs with reliable, hard-working individuals who have a positive, safety-conscious attitude and work well as part of a team. This is a full-time position that does not require any previous sawmill experience. Experience working in manufacturing or in a live production environment is required.

This position is ideal for:

- Someone able to lift, pull and pile materials
- Someone able to stand and walk for most of the shift
- Someone able to work 12 hour shifts on a rotating day/night cycle
- Someone able to work in an industrial environment which includes noise, dust, heights, and vibrations
- Someone who possesses a safety-first attitude who strives for results
- Someone who is naturally curious about the forestry industry

Assists in the production of raw lumber into planed, dressed, dimentional lumber through the contrl and operations of automated lumbermill equipment. This is done through equipment consoles and overhead stationary cranes, as well as manually with the use of hand tools such as pike poles and picaroons. Cleaning and fire watch are also part of this role, using brooms, shovels, and other cleaning tools, and fire extinguishers.
