Health and Safety Coordinator

With exciting goals for the future of our organization, we are currently in search of an experienced **Health and Safety Coordinator** to join us at our facility on Annacis Island in Delta. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative team and make a meaningful impact in a dynamic and fast-paced fabrication environment.

Reporting to the Corporate Health and Safety Leader, you will be responsible for promoting and assisting to maintain a safe working environment in a high-risk fabrication facility. You will support day-to-day safety operations and serve as a key resource in matters of health and safety compliance. This role is ideal for a safety professional with 3 to 5 years of experience in heavy industrial or manufacturing environments, especially those with exposure to pipe fabrication, modular construction, or shipbuilding.

**Highlights of job duties include**:

- Promote a strong safety culture through visible leadership and ongoing communication
- Monitor and facilitate compliance with company safety policies, procedures, and all applicable regulations
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of the fabrication shop and work areas
- Support incident investigations and follow up on corrective/preventive actions
- Assist in delivering and organizing safety orientations and toolbox talks
- Participate in identifying hazards, assessing risks, and implementing corrective actions
- Ensure proper use and availability of PPE and other safety equipment
- Maintain accurate safety documentation and logs
- A diploma or certificate in Occupational Health and Safety from an accredited college or university
- CRSP certification is an asset
- OFA Level 3 required
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in occupational health and safety, ideally within a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of all applicable Federal and Provincial legislation regarding Occupational Health and Safety
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and inspire a culture of safety excellence
- Knowledge of confined space and hot work processes.
- Ability to enter confined spaces as well as work at heights.
- Ability and desire to utilize technology to streamline and improve processes
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Exceptional interpersonal skills.
- A positive and team-oriented approach to work. Dependable and trustworthy.
- Ability to prioritize, manage time, multi-task, and work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Highly motivated and self-directed, with the ability to work independently
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
